  • The guest lecture & quiz event held on 15/10/2011 from BVB ISTE STUDENT CHAPTER received an overwhelming response with around 100 students attending the guest lecture and 35 teams (70 students) participating in the quiz event.
  • Shri Rajiv Lochan Das, The president of ISKCON & chief coordinator of Akshaya Patra Hubli-Dharwad, was the chief guest for the function.
  • The function began with a great enthusiasm with an invocation song by Pooja Gunaga. All the dignitaries and participants were welcomed by Sarah Reddy on behalf of BVB ISTE STUDENT CHAPTER. Chief Guest was honored by BVB ISTE chapter coordinator Dr. Anil V Nandi followed by a Chief guest Introduction by Vinay S G. BVB ISTE Staff coordinator Prof.Rohini Hongal was also present.
  • A video on “FUTURE IN BVB ISTE STUDENT CHAPTER” was screened to the audience that highlighted the benefits of joining BVB ISTE STUDENT CHAPTER and how it is useful to a student in enhancing the Technical, Leadership, Managerial & soft skills to become an efficient engineer.
  • Shri Rajiv Lochan Das addressed the gathering on the topic “Skills for Handling competitions and successful life”.
  • Shri Rajiv Lochan Das opined that “Without competition there is no drive for excellence, Competition is what makes us work harder towards our goals”.
  • He told students about the good and ill effects of competitions and highlighted the importance of healthy competitions saying “If there is no competition, there might be a lack of motivation to deliver the best. Lack of competition can lead to complacency, which ultimately results in below par outcome. When there is good, healthy competition, the end result is good”.
  • Speaking on the ill effects of competitions he stated that In present times competition has gotten to dangerously high levels, Urbanization has created competition which in turn results in stress, depression and various mental ailments. Competition is a major factor in education also. Upon receipt of their academic results, students tend to compare their grades to see who is better which should not be done.
